Demos are available for both the Macintosh (MacOS) and PC-compatible (Windows 3.1, Windows 95, and Windows NT 3.5.1). Just click on the appropriate link to download the file. Once the file has been downloaded to your hard drive, it needs to be decoded and expanded. Once configured with the right helper applications, most browsers will do the decoding and expansion for you. If yours does not do this, you may need to get yourself a copy of a helper like Stuffit Expander (for MacOS and Windows) or PKZip (for Windows platforms).
What you see and what you can search for with our web search engine is only a very small part of the information in our CD-ROM and directory. They have much more information, let you construct as complex a search as you want, and sort the results of the search. You can search by any part of a name alone; any part of the type; any part of the telephone number; any combination of sexual orientation; any part of whatever field or fields you want; any way you want! Unlike the web search engine, with the CD-ROM you are not forced to put in a type and country for every search (try the demo to find out how easy the CD-ROM is).
Once you've found the listings, you can then sort them the way you want: by name; by city; by province / state; by postal code; by country; by type; or by sexual orientation.
The CD-ROM lets you print out individual detailed listings or many of them at a time. You can also add your own notes to any listing you want. Try doing that with a web search engine! The new version of the CD-ROM has over 700 updates from the previous edition, it has more data per entry than the printed directory, and it has an updated help system. Our demos contain the actual Alternate Sources application, but with a set of sample data. You will be able to see how easy it is to look up resources world-wide.
We'd like to hear your comments about the demo and the CD-ROM application. Please take a minute to send them to us using this form.
If you have trouble downloading the files, please contact our . Please note that, since they are free, we cannot supply our usual level of support for the demos. If you're having trouble downloading or expanding the demo files, however, we will do everything we can to help you.

If you don't already have one installed, you will need a helper for your browser or a separate application to expand the file. PKZip is a good example.
| Win32s version 1.3.0c (only needed for Windows 3.1 systems without this version) You may be asked by the Microsoft site to register for support. This is just Microsoft’s way of doing a market survey. Once you’ve filled out the simple, three-page questionnaire, the Win 32s file will be downloaded. (2.5MB) File contains images to copy onto floppies, from which Win32s can then be installed onto your system. |
